More to come later…

Ok, so this one doesn’t quite fit the title, but it was cute and I like my pics to be in chronological order (I know that’s weird, what can I say?).

In this picture Emma was pretending to be Rob.  I asked her what she was doing and she said, “I’m pretending to be Daddy.”  Rob’s been studying alot and he underlines things in his book that are important, so Emma was underlining things on this paper.  :)

I don’t know why this picture is so huge, but here’s Emma being a sweet big sister and sharing her “ride” with Elias.

and from the other side

Oh and my 2 year old got a job!  :)

Ok, so I am really behind on posting… we’ve had a busy last few weeks.

We took Elias with us to the Brewer game a few weeks ago, but Emma didn’t want to go because of the big blow up bear that she is “terrified of”  (according to her).  Here’s a picture of the boy cousins at the game.

Here’s a picture from our trip out to see my great Grandma, so Elias and Emma’s great great Grandma.

I am teaching the baby class on Wednesday nights at church, so we’ve been taking Elias and Thomas to class for the past few weeks.  Here are their first attempts at sitting in the chairs at the table.

Emma decided that standing on Rob’s legs on the bed while we were dealing with Pearl’s infected chin was a good plan.  Did I mention this was also at nearly midnight on a Tuesday/almost Wednesday?  She fell off backwards and hit her face on a little plastic cart next to the bed.  So, after talking with the Doctor’s office, we decided to take her up to the hospital.  She had cut her gums and it looked pretty gross.  She was very brave and let us show her mouth to the doctor.  Luckily this part of your mouth heals so fast that she told us we wouldn’t need stitches, we just needed to keep it clean and it would heal on its own.  Emma says that the doctor made her feel good, and that would be because she gave her an ice pop… other wise the doctor didn’t even touch her.   :)

This of course happened the same day that I found out I got a new job.  I’m working with MHMR now as an Early Childhood Intervetion Specialist.  I hope it will be a fullfilling job.  I’m not enjoying being away from the kids, but Rob’s doing a great job with them.

That next weekend Christi came in town to celebrate her birthday with her family.  We went out to eat with them at Pei Wei and Jackson discovered he loves Elias car seat and likes to take pictures with my camera.

After lunch we took Emma to see the miniature horse show at Will Roger’s.  They were really adorable.

I just have to add this cute picture!  :)

Elias is starting to try some baby cereal…. just so he has some practice with using a spoon.  He’d been watching us eat, so i figured it wouldn’t hurt to let him try. If you like his stylish bib, Aunt Christi got it for him.

Another new thing for us is that Emma and the twins started school last week when I went back to work.  They’ll be going on Tuesdays and Thursdays so that, theoretically, Rob will get studying done…. that is if Elias will let him.

So I’ve been trying my best to catch Elias’s smile on camera for several months… he’s started to be little ticklish… so I worked on making him laugh when I want a picture.

I am not a huge fan or advocate of doughnuts, but there comes a time in a busy looong week that a sugar fix can be a treat.  We decided to go Krispy Kreme this morning and they had fall doughnuts.  Emma decided on a the pumpkin one and I got a pumpkin spice cake doughnut (yum!)

Elias sat quietly in my lap while we ate at first, then he started getting fussy.  Rob tried holding him so I could finish eating and then we noticed he was looking at my food.  Rob held it up to his mouth and he tried sucking on it.   Oh no! My baby already has his sister and dad’s sweet mouth!!

success!!!

Emma told us she was going to help them make doughnuts  (I have no idea why this picture is larger than the others… it is on the same setting… oh well… it’s a cute smile anyway)

when we left we ended up driving by a place selling pumpkins by the mall.  We decided to stop and take some pictures.  The nice lady even gave us some pumpkins for free when we tried to buy them.  :)

So, now you are all updated   :)

Dancing with the Stars started on Monday.  Emma loves to watch the girls dance and twirl and loves the sparkly dresses. (Although they do need more material)

Well we celebrated Grandparents’ day at tad bit late,  but we still had a good time and got a cute picture.   (That’s what reall matters, right?)  :)      It is so fun that our families have all combined!

At our church the kids get rewarded for learning bible verses, songs, etc.   Emma has learned the books of the new testament and the old testament, so she gets to have leaves added to the Tree of Knowledge at the church building.

We also went to a fun birthday party on Saturday afternoon.  It was a carnival theme and the kids had a great time.

Last Wednesday we decided to take advantage of the abnormally non-hot days we were having and we took the kids to the zoo.  3 adults and 6 kids under the age of 3 makes for an interesting outing.

They wanted to look at the armadillo, but were totally not interested in getting close enough to touch itl

super cute new penguin exhibit

So, we’ve been going to some sporting events lately.  Over the weekend we went to a Brewer football game and to a Ranger’s game.  Yeah… Emma was terrified of the Brewer bears’ blowup bear.  You know how the team typically runs through some type of blow up item when they come onto the field at the beginning of the game or half time.  Well luckily Emma missed the team coming onto the field, but she didn’t miss the bear as they were coming back at half time.  She is now officially traumatized by this bear.  The other team had a huge helment, which Emma differentiated by saying, “The helment doesn’t have eyes, but the bear does… so it scares me.”  She understands it isn’t real, she even said that it doesn’t have feet so it can’t walk, but she does not want to go back to another game (we have season tickets!).  I asked her on Saturday morning if she had a good time at the game, at first she said yes, but then after thinking for a minute she said, “but not the bear!”  On Saturday afternoon we decided to go to the Ranger’s game, so I asked Emma if she wanted to go to a baseball game, she said, “not a football game!”  I proceeded to tell her that I was talking about baseball, not football.  Then her response makes her truly a girl after momma’s heart…. she said, “I want to go to a Mavericks’ game”  (with an emphasis on the word Mavericks!)  That’s my girl!

Of course I forgot my camera on Friday evening, so I have to wait for Neva to send me photos.. here’s some from the Ranger’s game though.

notice the go bears clapper… Emma’s fav part of Friday’s football game.

Theresa took pictures for us on Saturday and gave me a disk of all the pictures.  I’ve chosen some of my favorites, but I am am having a hard time deciding which ones I like the best for framing.  What do you think?
